This month, the Kadens Family Fitness Center finally opened. The multiple month-long construction job was finished on time, and shown to the public at the Open House. After the ribbon-cutting, it was open for students to use.
However, before using the equipment, students from grades 7-12 need to attend a 15-30 minute orientation with Mr. Yuschak, the center’s new on-site coordinator. After attending this orientation, they can use the fitness center either alone or with a sports team.
This fitness center was funded with the help of many different donors; most notably Pete Kadens and Amy Kadens (‘96, ‘99). They donated $500,000 to our schools, which went into building the fitness center and for a unique fund for bringing different speakers to come to our schools.
The groundbreaking for the fitness center was on May 23 of 2019, and construction continued until January of 2020. The fitness center is a 4,000 square feet facility, with all new equipment installed.
The opening of the Kadens Family Fitness Center was much needed for our schools and is a huge step forward for our schools. The school is also thinking about a Courtyard Commons, to take up the relatively unused space near Mr. Linday’s room.
